Harry’s Story
Harry Keswani saw hungry children in need in Delaware, and based on the beliefs and principles instilled in him by his parents, he sought to fill the need by establishing the Harry K Foundation.
Harry has long been sensitive and in service to his community. His parents are from India, and through them, he learned of the devastating effects of poverty and starvation, especially in children. Although Harry was born in England, he felt compelled to address childhood hunger in his ancestral country. Harry and his beloved friend in India, a homeopathic doctor, collaborated for years to bring necessary care to those in need. When Harry’s friend passed, he was left with a personal void that was coupled with an undying drive to help those less fortunate.
Now in Delaware, Harry was shocked and unnerved to hear of the similar and rising problem of hunger and poverty in his community. He was even more disturbed to learn about the large number of schoolchildren who consumed their only meals of the day while in school, and that they would often go hungry in the evenings, on weekends, and during holidays.

To the Supporters of the Harry K Foundation,
If you can believe it, we are already one month into the new year! And we want to extend our most sincere thanks to you for your support as we are now over a decade into our mission: defeating childhood hunger in Delaware.
The foundation had another productive year and we accomplished a great deal; and our Annual Christmas Ball was a huge success! These achievements are due to the generosity of our supporters, our sponsors, our Board, the Ball Committee, our year round contributors, our state officials and dignitaries, and the entire state of Delaware- 100% of the proceeds from the evening went directly to our cause.
While we expand the scope of our assistance and increase efforts, the number of children in need only continues to grow.
Through our treasured partnerships, we have maximized our impact, the efforts of which reflect in our school food pantries (in school districts throughout each county), our Harry K Baby Pantry and WIC Program Office at the Lewes-Rehoboth Association of Churches Community Resource Center. Our new mobile food pantry has helped expand the services we provide, and it is currently visiting five underserved neighborhoods in Delaware.
The H4 Initiative, Help Harry Halt Hunger is directly reaching the neediest of our state's hungry children.
Here in 2024, we understand the need always outpaces the available help. But this does not stop us. No child should go to bed hungry in a community, state, or country as blessed as ours.
We are committed, more than ever, to our mission and to the growth of our vision. Thank you for your support as we work to defeat childhood hunger in Delaware.
With Highest Regards,
The Harry K Foundation ... See MoreSee Less
